Present splendid scene to praise the glorious times and sing songs to praise the great motherland. From October 12 to 13, 2019 China (Xiamen) Merchant Chorus Festival, sponsored by the United Front Department of the CPC Xiamen Municipal Committee, Xiamen Federation of Industry and Commerce (XFIC) or Xiamen Federation of Commerce of Chamber, and organized by the Cultural Committee of XFIC and Millionser Group, opened in the People's Theater at Zhongshan Road, Xiamen. Chen Yongdong, Party Secretary of XFIC, Qiu Jiahai, vice chairman of XFIC, Chen Qiqi, vice chairman of XFIC and president of Xiamen Association of Women Entrepreneurs, and JUN LYU, MSG secretary of  Party general branch & CEO, were invited to attend the competition.

The theme of this competition is "Celebrating the 70th motherland birthday and striving for a new era". It aims to bring together outstanding Chinese businessmen to seek a better and new journey for the private economy. At the same time, it will sing the theme of the times, transmit the positive red energy, and build a model of contemporary entrepreneurship.

Through the early online application, the chorus teams participating in the preliminary competition of this Merchant Chorus Festival are: Xiamen Quanzhou Chamber of Commerce, Xiamen Youth Entrepreneurs Federation, Xiamen Yongchun Chamber of Commerce, Xiamen Guangxi Chamber of Commerce, Xiamen Ningde Chamber of Commerce, Xiamen Hengxing Group Co., Ltd., Xiamen Jingdezhen Chamber of Commerce, Xiamen Association of Women Entrepreneurs, Xiamen Container Terminal Group Co., Ltd., Xiamen Quanzhou Quangang Chamber of Commerce, Xiamen Pinghe Chamber of Commerce, Xiamen Anxi Chamber of Commerce, Xiamen Jiangxi Chamber of Commerce, Xiamen Jiangsu Chamber of Commerce, Xiamen Harbin Chamber of Commerce, and Xiamen Weihe Technology Co., Ltd.

The judges are a strong lineup. Lin Yukun, director of Xiamen Chorus Committee, Zhang Ronglu, deputy director of Xiamen chorus Committee, Zhang Yunhui, an all-around artist, producer, singer, actress and director, Lin Jiudeng, a singer, actor and all-round creative artist, Zhang Le, member of China Musicians Association and vice president of Xiamen Vocal Music Research Association, Zhang Guofeng, member of China Chorus Association and director of Fujian Chorus Association are invited to be the judge of the competition.

During the two-day preliminary competition, People's Theater is decorated splendidly and all seats are occupied. Each team sings two pieces of songs, one of which is a must-have red song with strong artistry, theme promotion and feelings of Party and patriotism; the other is a self selected song.

The chorus of Xiamen Quanzhou Chamber of Commerce takes the lead. They bring the songs "Bless China" and "Create brilliance with one heart" with neat and loud voice, which sings the self-confidence and pursuit of contemporary people with bright and high rhythm. The chorus of Xiamen Youth Entrepreneurs' Federation brings the song "I love you, China" to express their love for the motherland, while the song "Happy Nadam" is full of enthusiasm and spirit. The chorus of Xiamen Yongchun Chamber of Commerce's "Hello, motherland" is powerful and full of passion and the song "Pearl of the East" is euphemistic and tortuous with endless patriotic feelings. The participating teams appear in turn, singing songs with rising passion or affectionate feeling, to show the brilliant artistic posture.

Chorus, as one of the most popular and widely participated forms of music performance, requires the harmony of melody among voice parts, teamwork and strong artistic appeal. The competition presents a high-level audio-visual feast for the audience. The participating teams shows superb singing skills and rich stage performance experience, which makes the audience applaud for it again and again.

Finally, eight chorus teams successfully reach the finals with outstanding comprehensive performance. They are Xiamen Quanzhou Chamber of Commerce, Xiamen Ningde Chamber of Commerce, Xiamen Hengxing Group Co., Ltd., Xiamen Association of Women Entrepreneurs, Xiamen Container Terminal Group Co., Ltd., Xiamen Jiangxi Chamber of Commerce, Xiamen Jiangsu Chamber of Commerce and Xiamen Harbin Chamber of Commerce.

It is worth mentioning that this competition has attracted the attention of mainstream media and portal websites, such as Xiamen Daily, West Strait Morning Post,  Strait Herald, Toutiao News, Xiamen TV, Xiamen.com, etc. Millionser Live of Millionser Media broadcasts the whole process of this preliminary competition, which has set off a chorus art wind on the Internet. 

It is understood that the online selection of 2019 China (Xiamen) Merchant Chorus Festival has officially started. Masses can vote for their favorite teams through the official website of the competition. The team with the highest online voting will win Best Popularity Award. The eight teams that have successfully reached the finals will hold the final PK on October 20, and the result will be announced in the art performances of 2019 China (Xiamen) Merchant Festival. In addition, the competition also set up the Outstanding Talent Award, Best Creativity Award, and Best Stage Style Award, etc.
