On October 13, with the 3rd preliminary challenge concluded in Quanzhou, the preliminary challenge of "The 2019 Cross-Strait & Hong Kong and Macao Sports Series for General Public — Tree Climbing Tournament" ended successfully. The preliminary challenge consisted of three stations: Fuzhou, Zhangzhou and Quanzhou station. The whole competition lasted 22 days. Tree Climbing enthusiasts from Fujian Province and even all over the country gathered together to compete with each other in the competition.

This competition is organized by Fujian Social Sports Guidance Center and Fujian Tree Climbing Association, co-organized by the P.E Department of Xiamen University and Xiamen Mountaineering & Outdoor Sport Association, and executed by Tree Climbing Sports Co., Ltd. As the final battle of the preliminary challenge, the competition venue of Quanzhou station is located in Quanzhou Southern Shaolin International School, known as "Garden School". On the basis of ensuring safety, the Organizing Committee of the competition designs the venue by gathering the ecological resources of the characteristic trees, to integrate the charm of the competition with the beautiful scenery of the campus.

The competition adopts the competition system of "speed climb", and the competitor who climb to the designated end point on the tree at the fastest speed and ring the bell will be the winner. According to the different groups, it is divided into four groups: A, B, C and D. Men and women compete in groups. In addition, interest experience, tree knowledge breakthrough and other sessions are specially set up on the site, to attract many people to watch and experience, and enhance the participation and interaction of the competition.

In October of Quanzhou, the autumn wind has a trace of coolness, but it has not affected the enthusiasm of tree climbing enthusiasts. On the morning of the competition, the staff were still arranging the venue nervously. Many of the competitors could not help but feel excited and came to sign in one after another. When they saw that tree climbing coaches rely on professional skills to rise, fall, walk and work flexibly and freely on the trees, they couldn't help thumbing up and praising it.

Different from the previous two preliminary challenge, this competition is mainly for the Southern Shaolin International School with the characteristics of "martial arts". The students are nurtured by traditional Chinese martial arts since childhood. Although they are generally young, they are all outstanding and have great strength. At the beginning of the competition, they took out their skills of "martial art" and strove to climb on the tree, setting new records again and again, and bringing different wonderful performances. The competition was going on in full swing. The contestants ignited their passion with their youth. This was not only a competition of skills and strength, but also a "Youth Kung Fu Carnival".

It was worth mentioning that Chen Xiang, chairman and principal of Quanzhou Southern Shaolin International School, attended the award ceremony and presented medals to the winners. He pointed out that If teenagers have immense strength and capabilities, their country will develop into a great power, and the tree climbing competition actively responds to the great strategy of building a strong sports country, which is in line with the development concept of the school. This Tree Climbing movement into the campus not only let students out of the classroom and embrace nature, but also conveyed the spirit of "never afraid of challenge and brave to climb" of the tree climbing movement. The school will encourage more students to participate in this new, exciting and safe outdoor sports.

The successful holding of the three preliminary challenges not only fully let students experience the charm of tree climbing, but also fully warmed up 2019 Tree Climbing Tournament. It is reported that "The 2019 Cross-Strait & Hong Kong and Macao Sports Series for General Public——Tree Climbing Tournament" will be held in Xiamen from October 25 to 27, with the theme of "up to the world, up to the future", which covers the opening ceremony, professional/amateur group events, master challenge, interest experience, closing ceremony, etc. At present, the competition has entered the countdown stage.
