The preliminary challenge of "The 2019 Cross-Strait & Hong Kong and Macao Sports Series for General Public — Tree Climbing Tournament", after Fuzhou's first victory, opens again on September 28 in Minnan Normal University with the ardent expectation of tree climbing enthusiasts. With the warm-up drive of Fuzhou station, the number of participants in Zhangzhou station has greatly increased, attracting college students and ordinary people in Zhangzhou and surrounding areas to actively apply for participation.

The competition system of "speed climb" is adopted in the competition. The winner is the one who climbs to the designated destination in the tree at the fastest speed and rings the bell. According to different groups, the competition is divided into four groups: A, B, C and D, with men and women competing in groups. In addition, interest experience, tree knowledge breakthrough and other sessions are specially set up to fully show the sports spirit of "All-People Participation, Climbing, and Sport", and also enhance the appreciation and interaction of the competition.

With an order from the referee, the players made full use of their energy to climb up the previously planned route. Sweat soaks their clothes and rough bark scratches their skin, but they still insist until they reach the end. Every time the victory bell rings, the whole venue seethes with enthusiasm and cheers.

Men's group is in full swing, so does the women's group. The small body erupts with great energy. Some of the competitors reaches the end in just over one minute, presenting a wonderful tree climbing feast for the people on site. The figure they strive to climb up is the true portrayal of the spirit of hard struggle and challenge oneself of college students in China.

At the venue, tree climbing experience area is popular. Children vies with each other to experience. The parents gather around to take photos of the children's heroic performance in the tree, and cheers the children with a smile. One parent interviewed says that the purpose of bringing his child to this activity is to let him learn new things and challenge himself. Because the safety measures are in place, and the professional coach guides the child, he is not worried about safety at all.

This competition has received the attention and support of the Physical Education College of Minnan Normal University. "Tree Climbing is a vigorous sport, which can evoke the beautiful memory of climbing trees and digging birds' nests in childhood. Contemporary college students lack this kind of natural experience most. In the future, we consider introducing tree climbing courses to enrich the school's physical education courses." Dean Wu Yuyuan is looking forward to the future of Tree Climbing. Wu Wenjia, vice dean, says: "for students, it is a challenge and a rare opportunity to experience this new sport." and he highly praises the performance of the players.

JUN LYU, President of Fujian Tree Climbing Association, also attends the competition, cheers for everyone and presents awards to the winners. Seeing the high popularity of the venue, he is very pleased: "this competition draws everyone closer to Tree Climbing, so that the ordinary people really feel the passion of not afraid of challenges and daring to climb. Next, we will increase the promotion efforts, continue to carry out the activities of tree climbing into the campus, cultivate more outstanding talents, and vigorously promote the popularization and development of Tree Climbing in China.

So far, the preliminary challenge of 2019 tree climbing tournament has been successfully held twice, and the third competition will be held in Quanzhou on October 13. The competition is sponsored by Fujian Social Sports Guidance Center and Fujian Tree Climbing Association, co-organized by P.E. Department of Xiamen University and Xiamen Mountaineering & Outdoor Sports Association, and executed by Tree Climbing Sports Co., Ltd.
