On October 28, 2019 China•Xiamen Tree Climbing Development Summit Forum hosted by Fujian Tree Climbing Association and organized by Tree Climbing Sports Co., Ltd. was held in MSG. The forum was divided into two parts: theme speech and interactive salon. Famous university experts and scholars from cross-strait and Hong Kong and Macao gathered to conduct in-depth exchanges on the development and challenges of the tree climbing industry, the experience of setting up tree climbing courses in universities, and the integration of tree climbing and outdoor experience education, so as to offer suggestions for promoting the vigorous development of the tree climbing industry in China.
During the theme speech, Wang Junjie, associate professor of Taiwan Sport University, took the lead in delivering the speech. Taking the Western adventure history and the ancient Chinese adventure story as the starting point, he pointed out that the Chinese traditional culture, such as the doctrine of the mean and the Confucian scholar thought, had restrained the Chinese people's adventure spirit, and put forward the suggestions of implementing the adventure education into the compulsory education curriculum.
Why do outdoor education activities focus on trees? Li Qianlong, from National Taitung University, brought a short film to answer this question vividly by taking the example of the pilot project of "tree climbing in the comprehensive practice course of Taiwan's schools". He pointed out that trees and schools have a continuous internal relationship with people. Applying tree climbing experience to school education can cultivate children to be lifelong learners.
Lin chuqiang, from Fung Kai No 1 Secondary School in Hong Kong, shared with the guests about the 14 year development history of the tree climbing course of Fung Kai No 1 Secondary School in Hong Kong, made in-depth exploration of tree climbing specialty, and analyzed the application and development of tree climbing experience in school education. Fung Kai No 1 Secondary School passed on the spirit and skills of tree climbing by the way of learning from the elder to the younger, which was affirmed and appreciated by everyone.
The report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China pointed out that ecological supply plays a very important role in solving social contradictions. Starting from the definition of forest health, Zhang Weiyin, associate professor of Forestry College of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, demonstrated the conclusion that close contact with nature is conducive to reducing blood pressure and improving positive emotions through two forest trail experiments conducted in Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, and proposed that rich ecological resources should be used to meet the growing needs of people for a better environment.
The most important thing about tree climbing is "playing". Weng Hengbin, the founder of tree climbing for fun, joked that it was an accident that he became a tree climbing master. Tree climber who doesn't want to be a photographer is not a good author. In his new work The World Seen in the Tree, he showed pictures from the perspective of the tree climber, shared the joy and emotion brought by tree climbing, and took everyone to appreciate the magical world in the tree.
Urban trees are planted for beauty and safety. The risk level of forest trees is assessed and the safety is guaranteed through human intervention, which coincides with the work of tree climber. Huang Songyi, from the ecological landscape research center of Guangzhou Landscape Company, introduced the construction system of risk assessment of urban trees in Guangzhou from the perspective of urban managers, and proposed that the combination of tree climbing and landscape work has a broad market prospect, bringing new inspiration and thinking to tree climbing practitioners.
Wu Mingjun, from CSK landscape services(s) PTE.LTD., moved the tree climbing equipment to the site, which became a bright spot. He gave a detailed introduction to acoustic logging equipment and personal protective equipment inspection software, etc. All kinds of high-tech hardware facilities opened the eyes of the guests.
After the brilliant and original speeches of seven experts, they entered into the interactive salon with intense sparks of thinking. The interactive salon invited Wang Junren from Taiwan Sport University, Chen Xiaoyou from China Outdoor Education Branch and Anhui Normal University, Lv Junpei from Hubei University, Wang Haijun from Wuhan Sports University, and Zheng Daxiong from Fujian Tree Climbing Association and P.E. Department of Xiamen University.
