To mourn the dead compatriots and heroes who fought against the epidemic, the State Council decided to hold a nationwide mourning on Apr. 4, 2020. At 10 o'clock, the air defense alarm sounded, the atmosphere was solemn and dignified. All stood facing the national flag with hands down, bowed their heads in silence, and saw off the anti-epidemic heroes and dead compatriots who sacrificed their lives with the deepest grief and respect. Nearby workers and community residents also took the initiative to join in and take off their hats. Passing vehicles also responded, parking and honking.

In addition to the mourning event, the group also adopted online gray operations, such as gray MSG official website, gray profile photo of WeChat official account. It also launched the memorial posters to remember the heroes, mourn the dead and express their grief.

Epidemic has no mercy, but humans do. The state payed homage to the heroes and respected for life by setting the flag at half-mast, stopping entertainment, honking the flute and worshipping with national ceremony. In the face of the coming global epidemic disaster, some countries had carried out the selective test and treatment of patients. Under the leadership of the state, the people of China had worked together to fight the epidemic, and not to abandon and give up every patient, which highly interpreted the people-oriented concept, respect for life and humanitarian spirit.
