In order to let the staff fully understand and deeply feel the traditional Chinese festival culture and enrich the spiritual life, the MSG Party general branch and the Party committee of Fanghu Community held the public activities of the Dragon Boat Festival on Jun. 25. The theme of this activity was "Greet the Dragon Boat Festival with the fragrance of bamboo leaves and send warmth by inheriting the culture". A series of activities with the characteristics of the Dragon Boat Festival, such as "Moreline soup", "sachets making", "shooting five poisons" and "Zongzi wrapping", were carefully designed. The activity not only attracted the group staff and their families to sign up for participation, but also invited the community residents to spend a good time together.
Early in the morning, the staff had already prepared the cypress branches in advance, followed the ancient rites, and held the "Moreline soup" ceremony. The participants signed in and accepted to clean hands by cypress branch in turn. It was reported that "Moreline soup" is a custom of the Dragon Boat Festival, which means to get rid of bad luck and get good luck.
The Dragon Boat Festival is in midsummer. In ancient times, there was a custom of "wearing sachets on the Dragon Boat Festival". The aroma permeated the site. The participants turned into craftsmen and carefully made sachets in their hands, filling them with spices such as Ay Tsao and realgar. After a while, exquisite sachets began to take shape.
The most lively scene was the "shooting five poisons", which represented people's desire to get rid of pests. The five poisonous portraits of snake, scorpion, centipede, gecko and toad were all hung on the wall as targets. The participants took turns to fight with bows and arrows, aiming and shooting, and a series of actions were completed in one go.
Throwing pot is evolved from archery, the third skill among the six arts. Its playing method is to throw arrows or other rod-shaped objects into the pot in various ways beyond the specified distance, so as to determine the victory or defeat by the amount. A lady with the highest percentage of hits on the spot said that only by closing one eye can she shoot accurately.
"5, 4, 3, 2, 1" with a countdown, Rice Dumplings Race began! The participants filled in rice dumplings, put stuffing, wrapped leaves and threaded ropes in an orderly manner. Two staff who were good at making rice dumplings were invited to teach hand in hand. Many of the staff who had not made Zongzi also did well under their professional guidance.
In a short time, a piece of fragrant bamboo leaves, crystal glutinous rice, in a pair of clever hands, turned into delicate, cute and attractive shape of rice dumplings. The spot of the activity was filled with laughter, happy and auspicious festival atmosphere. Pots of Zongzi and smiling faces became the most beautiful scenery in the public activities of the Dragon Boat Festival of MSG.
After the activity, participants said that they only knew about eating Zongzi on the Dragon Boat Festival before, but did not know that there were so many customs. It was very meaningful to participate in this activity. They not only felt the strong festival atmosphere of the Dragon Boat Festival, but also had a deeper understanding of Chinese traditional culture.
Carrying forward the festival tradition is one of the characteristic cultures of MSG. The holding of the public activity of the Dragon Boat Festival was the full embodiment of the group's business tenet of "People Oriented, Create a Better Life". It was also a demonstration of the group's achievements in community co-construction and a powerful practice to strengthen the national cultural confidence of the whole people. In the future, MSG, based on the original intention of public welfare, will carry out social responsibility and contribute to the development of traditional culture and the construction of social spiritual civilization.
